Thursday October 9th - Pearl Harbor

I guess everyone goes to Pearl Harbor and we can see why. It is not at all overrated. It was a pretty solemn thing to go out to the memorial where so many sailors are entombed in the USS Arizona, only a couple of feet below the surface. We wore headsets and thereby received a "guided", narrated tour of the whole facility. I got to meet and have pictures taken with a Pearl Harbor survivor, Herb Weatherwax. He was extremely friendly and accommodating to all of the people who wanted to meet him and get autographs.
