Volcanoes National Park-
We walked almost 6 miles this morning, going to church and back and then got ready for our afternoon tour in Volcanoes National Park. We rode a bus up to the top of Kilauea which is the volcano that has been erupting actively since 1983. This is the caldera on top where steam and gas are continuous. The flowing lava is from a vent much lower on the mountain that flows into the ocean. We got to see that later this night from the ship as it took a detour to the west so the passengers could see it before leaving the island to the east.
