On Saturday August 30th we participated in a marathon (26.2 miles) and a half marathon (13.1 miles) in Pocatello called "Running the Gap". This is Neil finishing the marathon (and looking finished). His time was 4 hours, 6 minutes, and 44 seconds.
Keith also ran the marathon, finishing in 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 34 seconds. He and his dad had varying levels of difficulty with leg cramps once they got on level ground from the big downhill and the temperature soared. Keith got 1st in his age division.

I ran the half marathon, a course that began at the midpoint of the marathon course and finishing with the marathoners. This course was rolling hills with no significant net downhill. My time was 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 37 seconds. Angie and I ran together until almost the end. It was my first half marathon and I beat my goal!
Angie's half marathon was a great accomplishment because like Keith in the marathon this was the longest run she had ever done. She had a little gas left in the tank with a mile to go and surged ahead to finish in 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 39 seconds. Great job Angie!
